I tried something new
May. 30th, 2009 08:24 pmOk I want to share a couple of things:
So usually when I make my bags I put a magnetic snap closure cause I'm one of those people that likes their bags with easy access. My friend likes them with zipper closures so she requested I put a zipper closure. At first I was like ehhhh I haven't tried that at all yet so I googled for some tutorials and found only two I could adapt to my own purse pattern. I thought since I had a little trouble finding one I'm sure other people would like some help :)

Here's the finished bag: I really like how it came out and I like that I decided to put it about an inch down from the top to showcase some of the fabric from the lining.

if you notice I made a boo boo on this one I put the pockets zipper on the wrong side lol....it's ok she wont mind!

made a quick pull with wire and a random bead.

Also I'm not a big fan of the iron on interfacing for making bags, I found out through trial and error that it just makes the bags stiff and it doesn't look right to me or feel right...so I've been using white flannel and LOVE IT...BUT I found out that in those cases where the outside fabric is too thin canvas works great! I'm sure some of you already know that but I just figured that out haha...Just wanted to share that cause I know I would have liked to know that sooner!
Here's another bag I made
