beading question

When making beaded necklaces, how do people keep the ends of the tigertail from poking out? I tuck them under the beads, but no matter what, the little buggers find their way out and start poking me! I've tried using clear nail polish to stick the beads that are covering the ends together, but it never lasts. Does any one have any suggestions? I've been making these necklaces on and off for six years, and I still can't get this right.
