I hadn't decided what to do with the t-shirt yarn I'd made around my birthday (post is here if you want to see!)
I'd thought about making coasters, or combining like colors to make a rug or something like that.
Today, while the boyfriend and I were sweating (from the heat, the Air Force, and missing one another, among other things...) we had quiet time and I spent a few minutes crocheting....
I used a size Q hook, I think. The yarn I made is pretty bulky, so I used the biggest hook I had. I had to be careful about pulling so tight because the cotton stretches so much! It was hard to get into my second row of stitches!
I didn't really follow pattern, this one just kind of happened. Its about 24 sts across and there are only 4 rows. I tied the ends off and used the tail from my work to measure around my head and tie it off. Because the cotton is so stretchy, it's perfect as a head band. I wore it all day today, and it stayed in just fine. (Today, we did Sonic and drove with EVERY window down on the freeway, it's been so hot. [and there is no working AC in the Audi!], I had a peppermint face mask and lots of cuddling, changing and rolling around laughing.....)
I'm quite proud of my 5 minute craft, so here is my long winded introduction to my mediocre, but quite useful, headband.

and there ya have it. I'm thinking about making a few more for the girls at work, plus I have a ton of t-shirt yarn all over. I'm going to experiment with some different stitches, too, so if anyone gets inspired, please share! I love collaborative crafting!
