Halloween Stockings!
Jul. 20th, 2009 06:52 pmI'm new to knitting, having learned (after about 2 decades of watching both my parents and my grandmother knit) back in January of this year. Needless to say, I'm obcessed. I knit projects both on regular knitting needles and on Provo Craft's Knitting Looms.
The following Halloween Stockings, my own pattern and design, were knitted on Provo Crafts small circular loom (mine is blue, but colors may vary).
The pair as they are:

An action shot of the back:

An action shot of the front:

They were knitted up first as a flat panel and then the closer I got to the ankle, I knitted them in the round. I sewed elastic inside of the cuff (to help hold them up at the knee) and laced orange ribbon through the back and up to the top closing it up in a bow.
I will be writing up a more detailed pattern as I continue to work out some of the kinks and try a few variations.
