This is just a simple little purse, but I love this (free) pattern and it has become my go-to bag pattern when I need something to match an outfit, so I figured I'd share it here. It's the Buttercup Bag, and it comes together quickly and easily. If you use a lightweight cotton like the pattern indicates, I recommend interfacing to help the bag keep its shape.

I made the dark blue one so that I could finally wear the following dress out AND carry my belongings with me. It's so nice to be able to sew a purse for an event within a couple of hours. I like the way the antique white grosgrain ribbon tied everything together. It looked great in person, and gave the bag a bit of vintage flair.
