So, I have a plain, white, beaten-up nightstand in desperate need of repainting. It's been mine as long as I can remember, and before that, it was my dad's.
So, who wants to help me not be braindead? It's been a tough summer.
The handles are wood and part of the drawers, so I can't replace them. (Otherwise I would have some sweet fleur de lis pulls from my LCS.) Basically, I think my only option for changing it is painting.
I'm moving into a new apartment, getting somewhat new furniture, so I'm not really sure what will or won't match my room. So, I suppose there's repainting it a neutral, repainting it something bright and hoping it'll match, painting and then further decorating it with rub-ons or stencils or decoupage, etc. I have a deep love of colorful and patterned scrapbooking paper, if that will help. My favorite paper is patterned too small to be good on furniture, however.

Other things in my room will be: an as-yet unknown desk, a black and silver computer chair, cheap bookcases (if you have any suggestions here, diy or bought, they would be welcomed!), an ugly green comforter that I'm oddly attached to, probably a mattress up on pallets in lieu of an actual bed, a number of electronics in different shades of black and gray, one to three fishtanks of various styles, and neutral apartment walls and carpet. If you hadn't guessed, I'm in college.
In return for your assistance with my rather vague post, I give you an adorable cat.

No, seriously, want her, she's yours. :)
