Reduce, reuse, recycle!
Aug. 28th, 2009 04:29 pmSo what do you do with a pile of buffing pad cores? You make a rug!
I work at a hotel. The night cleaning crew walked by carrying a bag of these- they're the centers from the floor buffing pads- on the way to the dumpster. I instantly thought " wow, those would make neat scrubby pads!" So I asked for the bag. When I got them home, I realised I didn't need THAT many scrubbys, so I decided to make a rug. It feels gooood on the feet! Right now it's in the shower, but I don't think the cotton string will live long so I need to get some heavy fishing line or somesuch to redo the stitching.
I used the string from cat food bags to sew them together, so it's a 100% recycled project! Vex the cat was not amused I spent an hour doing this instead of petting her.
