quick and easy
Sep. 11th, 2009 07:41 pmA few days ago I got 15 sets of double pointed bamboo knitting needles off Ebay for around £15 including p&p. This was a real bargain as it works out at about £1 per set. Unfortunately I know how disorganised I can be, and having 75 knitting needles of various sizes around seems like a recipe for losing most of them and a hideous mess.
So, earlier I made a case for them to keep them organised. It's made out of a piece of ancient, grubby, stained Toile De Jouy my boyfriend's mum gave me when we were visiting her in France a while back. I didn't use a pattern, just looked at a few knitting needle roll patterns online and made mine up from a composite of what I thought would work well, as seen in those.
Quite happy with how it turned out. I like to think the stains give it an air of faded grandeur. Oh who the hell am I trying to fool? I tolerate the stains because I am too cheap to buy new fabric and there is sentimental value attached to this.
