So, last week and over the weekend I've been working on a project using these fabrics, along with the addition of white cotton sateen

I started out making a log cabin quilt, because I'd been told I would never be a "real quilter" until I made a log cabin quilt, but sadly, I made one block and bored myself.

I didn't want to make "wonky log cabins" because, it seems everyone in blogland has made wonky log cabin quilts inspired by or plain old copied from Denyse Schmidt. So I free-pieced all the strips I made into blocks

and ended up making a queen sized quilt that was somewhat reminicsent of a log cabin and somewhat reminiscent of a Denyse Schmidt-inspired quilt.

the finished product

The thing was barely made before BSP literally stole it from the sewing room and threw it on our bed (otherwise, I would have at least tidied up before I took pics) but there was no stopping BSP. ;)

BSP says it's a "happy" quilt, and I guess that's why I called it Pinocchio. Maybe I'll never be a "real" quilter, but I like the quilts I make anyway. :p

I'm real boy now! ;)

bigger and more detailed pics at my blog, you probably know the drill, etc.,
