craftgrrl | easy unique costume ideas for a girl with a busted hand??

ok....so normally i make kind of over the top costumes every halloween, this year was looking to be a problem as i had a very small budget, until tragedy struck ...

i broke my left wrist on the weekend!

bummer. so at least i dont feel bad about having a potentially lame-o costume this year......but i have very few ideas now! i do have a lovely assistant (my BF of 7 years) who is willing to do whatever he can, even basic straight seam sewing. we are hoping to mostly thrift our costmes i guess, and he may reuse last years (death) but i dont want to use my last years (anubis) because giant mask + cast + dark = not so fun...

i have a few ideas i'm not so sold on...
pirate vs ninja
jay and silent bob
"hellgirl" incorpoating my dayglo pink cast (haha lame)

anyone have any ideas that i/we could do that isn't too generic? does not have to be couple oriented. good news, my budget may be a little bigger so don't limit your ideas (also, i'm pretty thrifty!)
