Festivus Miracle?
Dec. 26th, 2009 01:48 pmHaving never worked with fleece or embroidery, having few sewing skills and no sewing machine, I have to admit, I'm pretty pleased with myself. Not that making a customized sherpa hat for friend is something I'll do again any time soon...
So, my friend has five backyard hens and has to brave the cold each morning to collect eggs, feed and water the peckers, and let 'em lose to free-range. A while back, I had the idea to make her a sherpa-type hat for Christmas, and since I don't knit or crochet, had picked up a remnant end of blue fleece at a JoAnn's back in October. Which means I got to the hat project...the evening of December 24th.
From beginning to end, there was plenty 'airing of grievances,' 'feats of strength,' but I persevered. Here's what I ended up making. If you can't read my Charlie-Brown-with-an-ink pen-esque embroidery, it says, "Give us this day our daily eggs."
