Aurora Borealis scarf.
Jan. 2nd, 2010 12:43 pmI'm calling this scarf "Aurora Borealis" because the colors remind me of the Northern Lights. I wove it in just two days, warping the loom one evening and then weaving it the next morning. I love how fast weaving is compared to knitting, though I still love knitting, of course.

I used mostly Mochi Plus yarn in the "Jungle" colorway, number 560. I also used a little bit of KnitPicks Telemark in "pesto" for the edges of the warp because I wanted a decently wide scarf but was worried that I would run out of yarn. I ended up with a whole leftover skein, though, so if I make another one of these I probably won't add the extra yarn. Also, Mochi Plus isn't really a very good warp yarn, as it's pretty fuzzy, and one of the warp yarns got worn away by the rubbing of the heddle as I moved it back and forth. It lasted until the end, though, so I only had to tie the short end to one of the others.
I have a more detailed write-up about the scarf on my blog, Nikki's Notebook.
