The last quilt I finished in 2009, this one was completed on December 30, and was a late Christmas present for my oldest son, nineteen and about to move into his first bachelor pad. I called it "He's a Man Now"

this quilt went through a lot of iterations. Made from two prints of black and gold African waxed cottons, as well as ordinary black cotton and upholstery weight cotton printed with palm trees for the back;

I quilted it all over with my "go-to" quilting method - something I call "squiggles" - sort of like meandering, but it's one continuous line. I thought it was perfect for this quilt as it's a dense quliting method and I imagine this quilt will get a lot of washings!
The border though, I quilted in a way that seemed to suit the design.

The label says:
"He's A Man Now"
2009
For my beloved son, ******,
with all my love.

Thanks for looking!
