craftgrrl | Bracelets & A Bee Cake

Not sure if the cake is allowed (since it is technically sugar art), but the bracelets are certainly fair game, so I will start with them. :)

Detachable elastic bracelet set tied together with satin ribbon. Made for my roommate M's birthday. Inspired by this one from Forever 21. I was thinking about texture when I made this.

Top bracelet. Silver toggle clasp, metallic filigree beads, large purple and small clear Swarovski's, pearlescent beads. The crystals and beads are truly vintage, as they come from what I inherited of my late grandparents' stock (They were jewelers).

Bottom bracelet. Pearlescent beads, metallic spacer beads, filigree bead caps, purple glass focal and clear iridescent beads. (In this case, the purple, metallic spacer, and clear beads are not vintage).

Nigella Lawson's Honey Bee cake! I decided to add marzipan flowers as well as the bees she tells you how to make, because I wanted to use up the log of marzipan I'd bought.
