So I made a lamp...

It's made from an empty shell of a 50s radio. Eventually I want to get a prettier dimmer switch, but this all I have for now.

Another shot of the great creepy glow it gives off. Just enough for a night light up to enough to read by, but not enough to hurt to look directly at it.

Basically, I started with the 50s radio case, and sanded it down. I wish this picture accurately reflected how damaged the original finish was.

Then I cut holes in the top and refinished it.

Hot glue gunned sockets into the holes. It's holding fine for now, but there are probably stronger and more effective ways of doing that.

A shot of my messy wiring. I was working off a super cool Instructable Tutorial, but I actually didn't find the wiring part very clear, especially since I was using more lightbulbs than the example. Fortunately, I figured it out, and with no soldering required, contrary to what the description said. I'd be happy to answer any questions on what worked for me and seems to not be burning the house down.

The filaments look really cool turned down low.
