Screen printed and stenciled tshirts

Wow, it's been forever since I've posted over here. I'm currently taking a tshirt design class, which is essentially a screen printing class, especially since we're allowed to use other's designs.

I just wanted to share what I've made so far...




Eee, glittery paint makes me happy!


Also did this one in red.

And again in black and in silver on silver scraps of fabric that I'll either make into tote bags or use as large patches on something, maybe work into a quilt.

Some fellow student thought my nice clean shirt that I had folded and set aside to print on was a scrap piece of fabric and used it to clean up his red paint. After inwardly raging, I decided to embrace it and cover it with more red for a blood splatter like effect.




A guest artist came to class one day and we used his screens to make shirts. This is one I did twice, once all in silver and once with just Mary in purple so it looked like she glowed silver along the edges.




The guest artist was all about having us decorate on old pizza boxes to use as gift wrap when we give out shirts to people. Interesting recycling idea.


One day we cut out stencils to use on our shirts instead of screen printing. Ugh, the reason I took this class is because I was sick of cutting out stencils to do freezer paper stencil shirts at home. Oh well, it ended up being an interesting experience.


Used as a stencil with regular screen printing ink.


Used as a stencil with spraypaint. Yuck, I am not a fan of how it looks, feels or smells. Plus the can was clogged and my teacher tried to help and ended up having overspray all over.


I used two colors, slightly overlapping to give it a kind of 3D effect.
