Repurposed decorative gift boxes
May. 27th, 2010 08:31 amDecorative gift boxes!

Decorative gift boxes, since let's face it, nice boxes are hard to find. Especially when you need them.

Repurposed lidded boxes (one is from a mini brie, another is from a chocolate sampler) decopaged with wrapping paper, then further decorated with fabric flowers.
~The orchids got stems painted on before hand with craft paints~
I ironed the flora first, but found having it dry face down on a piece of plastic worked best for keeping it from curling off.
Then I gave them a coat of an acrylic satin varnish (to remove the tacky of the Mod podge or the lids would never come off again) and finished off the insides with some coordinating craft paint.
Took a couple hours while watching old 'Angel' eps.
Cost: zero.
As I had everything on hand already from past projects.
I definitely plan to do more since they turned out really cute.
And there you have it.
Bye now!
