Double Helix on the Downbeat

This was my response for the 3rd word for 3 Creative Studios challenge group "rhythm".
I made the first panel - a woman dancing in purples and golds and blues on a pieced background of black sheer fabrics spangled with "diamonds" to represent the stars; but after I was done that first panel I realized I had no idea how I was going to incorporate the three panels I imagined in my head together.
I fussed about it for weeks, coming up with different ways to attach the panels, even making a few mock-ups; but I couldn't come up with any method that made me happy.
Eventually, I just told myself to get on with it already, so started constructing my "circle of life" panel. Although I should have made it in the same purples and golds of my dancer, for some reason, I felt it needed to be made in fire-y oranges and both bright and calming blues. My circle was huge - much bigger than the woman, but as I was constructing it I realized that all of this energy and all of those rhythms from the earth were moving through my dancer; that they weren't separate from one another, but one with one another. And I had my quilt.
