Orange You Glad?
Jul. 23rd, 2010 08:49 amI just realized I hadn't posted this!

This one was an HST I started a looooooooooooong time ago. When I cut all those litte squares, I hadn't realized how finicky they were going to be to sew - and once I'd made 30 or so, I was really unhappy that I'd cut enough for a queen sized quilt!
(Do you ever do that - look at something and say "easy-peasey!" and then go "Oh noes!" once you've started it?)
Anyway - I have only two more queen sized quilts to finish and three more laps, and then I'm done my WIPS - so I'll be done my "traditional" quilts as well.

Which gives me a great opportunity to say, that starting this coming Monday, for those of you who follow or come to visit my blog (divaquilts.com) - thank you, and also, I'm going to be making some changes.
Diva Quilts will continue to focus on my passion for utility quilts (quilts that are meant to be cuddled in, tucked up, dreamed under.) I love those kinds of quilts and don't want to stop making them, though I hope to "make something new" of them (with apologies to Ezra Pound.) (It was Mr. Pound, wasn't it?) ;)
However, I'm going to be starting another blog, called coneflowersinleslieville.blogspot.com, where I'll explore my other passionate interest, textile art. I'll have adventures there in dyeing, complex cloth, embellishing...who knows what all? Wherever my bliss takes me, there will I go.
Please follow along at either or both (!) - and join me in the journey. I'd love to have you as a fellow traveller.
Have a great weekend, all!
