Baby Vikings need toys too!
Oct. 19th, 2010 04:51 pmHello, first time poster here!
Two and a half years ago, my friends had their first son. Both parents are martial artists, and all my friends love swordfighting, so I thought "The baby needs a weapon!" and made him a little plush sword (Which I can't find a photo of right now).
I've had a bunch of requests from friends for other plush weapons so I whipped these up the other day:
The fronts:

And the backs:

These were prototypes; the handle is a little understuffed and floppy. I welcome any suggestions on making it a little more rigid, while still being machine washable and infant-safe.
I'm also working on plush hammers:

I am definitely aware that it's uneven, I hand draw all my own patterns so it will hopefully be better the second time around...
And maces:

This was take 1 of the mace; I've since tweaked how I'm putting it together and working on a fuzzy new version...
Anyways, I'm a complete newbie at this; sewing is something I barely did as a kid, but I'm open to all suggestions!
