I had been wanting to make my daughter a cooking apron for the longest time but hadn't been able to make it to the fabric shop in probably just as long.  I opened up my fabric draw hoping to magically find some large remnant of fabric to make the classic style butchers apron, but knowing I wouldn't find much other then scraps .... and then it hit me!  I could make an apron from scraps and make it up as I go depending on what little pieces I could find.  And that is how the scrappy apron was created.

I'm digging box pleating right now.  I had originally pinned it with regular pleating but it didn't look right, and then I remember how easy box pleating is and how much cuter it turns out.

I gotta admit this is probably the cutest thing I have ever made!  I'm so chuffed because I did it all without a patten or even an overall picture of what I wanted.  Rather I just kept pinning on and pulling off bits of fabric until I got the style and overall shape I wanted.
