Nov. 5th, 2010 09:27 pmHello again!
So my friend and I decided that we were going to crochet cute little beret style hats for our little girls. So we bought all the necessary stuff and found our online tutorial videos (hooray for youtube!) and went to town. Well as I was following the instructions I deviated a little (the lady said we could haha) to get a little more "slouch" in the hat. I wound up adding 5 extra rows after rows 15-17 in the tutorial. Well the more I kept working on it, the less and less I liked the slouchy beret style hat because it just wasn't laying right on my daughter's head. So I wound up just unraveling it to a certain point (line 18 in the tutorial) and ended my hat there and turned it into a beanie instead. I'm very happy with the finished product and can't wait to start working on a matching one for myself and scarves for the two of us.
So anyway, here's the hat and directions I used behind a lovely little

My soon to be 4 year old daughter, totally not paying attention to me as I'm trying to take her picture.

A picture of the back of the hat.

And because you can't really tell from the pictures, but the beanie actually has a whole bunch of holes all throughout it. Sorry if the lighting is kinda odd, but I was holding it up in front of my computer screen so you could see through it.
And of course, the pattern I used and followed to a certain extent:
