hey everyone, im on a quest to make a lamp, i know how i want to do it, but as far as the post i'm unsure here's my idea and tell me what you think i should usefor the post/do to make it

i want to take an old coffee can (any size, but probably the larger sized) and drill tiny holes though it in various places throughout the can,

turn it upside down (so the opening is at the bottom) and have that be my lamp shade. i want to light source to come up through the bottom and i should have a post, i just dont know how to make it or what to use... any suggestions?!
