I'm applying for a student business grant to start a small business making safe/tough small dog supplies. For the dog/cat safety collar, I want to use magnetic clasps with a D-ring on either side for leash attachment.
I do not want to use any form of plastic safety buckle or slip buckle: first, I've had major problems with safety buckles (Namely, I lost a cat when a safety buckle failed and he strangled) and I've been using all-nickel hardware to prevent chewing/destruction hazards.
The type of clasp I'm looking for is sold at my local store with a brand called "Unique"- which I can't find online- and for 4.49$ each. Spending that much on a single part of the collar is a bit much, it'll put each safety collar with my pricing strategy at about 15$ a pop. I've looked at jewellery stores online and can't find any that have a large enough connection point.
Can anyone point me towards a good, sturdy magnetic clasp option that isn't a button-type clasp, and has a 3/4" connector part?
