I haven't posted here in a long, long while, but wanted to share some projects I made recently.

Swing Swing Smock, pattern from Amy Karol's Bend the Rules Sewing

Reverse side of the smock. The fabric is Wildwood Forest by Erin McMoris.

A fleece tube I made for my chinchilla.

One of two mittens I knit (the second isn't quite finished). The pattern is called Classic Mittens and the yarn is Manos del Uruguay.

I made these fabric straps for my Pyrex refrigerator dishes so the lids would stay on when I'm transporting them. I use them instead of Tupperware. I sewed them up just like a tote bag strap and added velcro.

I did some furniture make-overs when I moved into my apartment in the fall. I re-finished and re-covered this chair. It was actually pretty easy to re-cover, I just pulled off the old fabric/foam and stapled new foam/fabric to the seat. The fabric on the seat Echino.

This is what the chair looked like before. It was a $3 value village find.

I don't have a matching pair, so I made a seat cover in the same Echino fabric and re-finished this chair in the same colour as the other. You can see the previous chair in progress behind this one.

I also re-covered some Ikea lamp shades for my apartment. I just traced an outline of the lampshade onto the fabric and hot glued it on.

This is something I made for a school project. It's a model of a plant. It's mostly made of felt, with wires inside the petals and leaves so they can bend and hold their shape. The 'roots' are made of hemp string, and the stamens were found in the bridal section of Michaels.

The whole thing zips up into this seed pouch.

You can close the petals to form a bud. If you decide to make one of these, be sure to use wire rather than pipe cleaners. Pipe cleaners aren't sturdy enough to hold the bud's shape.

I made this baby blanket for a friend's son. The fabric is My Happy Garden by Cloud 9. It's hanging funny for the photo, but looks pretty normal when layed out flat. I sewed on either side of the seams to make it look more finished, but it's not really showing up in the photo.

The back is just yellow minky.

I hope an in-progress shot is okay. I'm currently working on covering a little bench with this patchwork.

I'm also working on a patchwork quilt using Ana Maria Horner's Good Folks flannel.

Thanks for looking!
