Eleanor of Aquitaine was Europe's most powerful woman during the Middle Ages. She was a Duchess, a Queen, a Regent, a patron of the arts and one hell of an historic figure. =)
I'm not sure if the inspiration image is actually meant to be Eleanor, but it was the buyer's request.

My 8th Anne Boleyn. =)
I especially loved this one because it was the first time I ventured outside of the famous portrait of her with the black french hood.

Elizabeth I's coronation portrait.
I'm so insanely proud of this one; you can't even imagine!
I knew I couldn't possibly work in every single detail of her clothing, but I tried my best at those I could do.

Inspired by Van Dyck's portrait of Charlotte, Countess of Derby in the 17th century.
You can read about her life here: http://www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/fulltext/hs1864/p242.htm
In this doll I particularly enjoyed the contrast between a simple bottom and a rich top. It was fun playing with lace, pearls, bows, jewels and curls all in one go. =)
