I have a bit of a dilemma. I bought a pair of shoes at Goodwill for $6, several weeks ago, with the idea in mind to redo them somehow. My problem now is that I've no idea what the best idea would be! So here I am, begging for opinions and suggestions.

The back of the heel is dirty all the way from the top to the bottom, but the photo only picked up on the worst of it.

The cork has this weird sort of gold-paint effect.

So... what do you think the best redo idea might be for this particular pair of shoes?

Fabric overlay? Any suggestions as far as colors/patterns? http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/shoe-redo

Some sort of edgy image collage? I can see this being pretty neat if I were to spray paint the red part black and do the collage on just the wedge. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=347316.0

Do you think I should cover the entire shoe, including the wedge part or just the red part? I'm really at a loss. =P

Or, I suppose... do you think I should just clean them and leave them they way they are?
