Hi craftgrrl!

Just wanted to share a really simple graduation craft. I made 8 of these graduation cap cards today, for all my friends that are graduating tomorrow. I got the idea here: http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2010/05/18/hats-off-to-the-graduates/

Basically, I printed out the square petal card template found here: http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/square.htm . I enlarged it a bit before I printed, so that the inner square would be ~3.5 inches. I traced the template onto cardstock, cut it out, and cut out a square of white cardstock. I made mini tassels using embroidery floss and the video found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra2qbqISwsM . I used a folded flashcard instead of a piece of cardboard, and wrapped around 35 times so the tassel part was only ~1.5 inches. Then add a drop of Elmer's glue to fix the string to the center, a little circle of cardstock, and repeat!

Also, my local Michael's had cardstock on sale for 4/$1! I made all of these cards for about $3. :)
