May. 15th, 2011 09:28 amI made these quick and easy birds today.

The fist set is made out of unbleached cotton.
Either draw out a bird and a wing or find a graphic online and print it. Cut out the bird and use it as a template. Trace the bird and wing onto your fabric and cut out two of the body and four of the wings.
The legs are made out of paper clips. Unbend one end and straighten it out, do two of them.
I used a glue gun to stick the fabric edges together because it was faster but you can sew the edges together if you like. Place and glue in your paper clip legs as you go. Put a little bit of stuffing in the body and wings before you completely close up the edges, a cotton ball will work too.
Glue on your wings. I frayed the edges of the fabric by scraping my nail along all the edges. Done.
I did the second one out of a stiff cardboard. Again, trace out the body and wings and cut them out. Brush regular Elmers School Glue onto the cardboard body and then placed it down on the page of an old book, then cut around the paper. Cover and cut out both sides of the body, placing your paper clip legs in before you seal the body completely shut. Do the same with both sides of each wing and then glue the wings on. Simple.
These would look adorable done with printed fabrics and patterned scrapbook paper too.
Give them to everyone!
