I just made some moccasins, and I need outside opinions. Should I leave the tassles shell-free, or add the shells?

The moccasins currently look like this: Please ignore all the lint and thread that is on the floor...







And if I add the shells, I'll have to cut the tassles a bit shorter so I'm not stepping on anything -- the moccasins will look something like this:

What do you think?

They're not 100% identical, of course; it IS my first time making moccasins (possibly not the last??) AND my first time working with leather... but I'm really very happy with the result, anyway.

I should add that the shells I'll be using will not be cowrie shells, since I don't have any and I don't feel like waiting around to obtain some. They'll be smaller, rounder spiral shells.
