Long time without looking or posting here because I have been stupidly busy. However I've just finished university in contempary textiles and thought I'd share my finals. I made 3 body sculptures (wearable art) inspired by the ephemeral act of fire. Looking at the sublime (the beauty but the inherent danger in fire) I have used soft felt against hard wire to get the beauty, but also the wire as the proection, the 'armour' . All the wool is hand washed, dyed, wet felted, dry felted, beaded, hand embroidery, hand knitted wire, all designed and made by myself.
