The weekend before last I went to the Bead and Button show in Milwaukee. And I went it with a few things in mind that I really wanted to check out. Some stones and some resin. Now, I’ve had a hard time with resin in the past (it just never wants to set for me!). But there’s this new kind out that’s supposed to be fool proof, so I decided to give it a shot. And I have to say… I am SOOOOOOOO happy with the results! I’ve only done a few things with it, but I’m DYING to do more!

Isn’t that stone insanely beautiful?!?! I found those at the show! I attached it to a ring base with the resin. Simple but sooooo pretty. :D

I am in love with the colors I picked for these. I’ll be honest; matching colors has never been my forte. I still have to ask to make sure my clothes match some days, lol. But these are just so pretty together! And check it out! Aren’t the little dandelion charms darling? That’s another things I found at the show, square design stamps! Normally, design stamps are round. And for whatever reason, I CAN NOT get them to work. But square stamps? Those I can totally rock! One of my favorite things about these is that I combined techniques. It’s not just stamped. It’s not just resin. It’s both. Also? Here’s to finding a new way to use crystals!

Seriously… I am SO in love with this. Honestly, I am just floored by how well it turned out. Not to toot my own horn or anything, lol. But check it out, yo! Anyway… I’ve always been a fan of mixed media. I love mixing different techniques and materials and this just sort of touched on all of that. Not only do I have some traditional beading techniques in there, but I’ve got some oxidization, decoupage and collaging in there as well! The pieces of paper are actual book scraps I had left over from a collage box I did years ago. And I oxidized the chain, star and findings myself. Basically… What it comes down to is that I want to marry this necklace, lol.

Sorry about the picture quality. These are just quick snapshots because I was dying to show these off. I had so much fun making them. :D
