Second only to my love of History is my passion for mythology.
Last week I had some free time to indulge in it and made a couple of dolls based on ancient Greek legends and matched them up here with some older projects some of you may already have seen (if so, my apologies).

Inspired by the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature, of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music, as well as the companion of the nymphs, this Pan was my favorite doll for a long time. <3
His hooves don't allow him to stand by himself, but he made up for it with his adorable little tail and flute.

The story of Medusa is a sad one if you read the Roman version (not that the Greek one has a happier ending for poor Medusa...), but, anyway, this is my version of that terrible creature who turned anyone who looked at her into stone.
;) I dare say mine could only kill you with her cuteness.

I tend to pity the monsters in the legends and the Minotaur is no exception.
Poor thing, trapped in a dark maze and fed human flesh... *cuddles*

In case you're not familiar with her story, Circe's a character in Homer's Odyssey, a seductive sorceress who transformed Odysseus' men into pigs with her potions.
Of course Odysseus, being the hero and whatnot, escaped the the same fate, saved his men and seduced Circe into helping him. =P
For this one I had help from this image for her hair: http://www.fashion-era.com/images/all_greeks_romans/hairgreekge1.jpg
And, for the pig, I used a pattern from the very generous Madelei on deviantART: http://madelei.deviantart.com/

I hope you liked them!
