shrinky dinks
May. 24th, 2003 09:24 pm(sorry for minor cross-posting) hi. i've been trying to make some nice-looking jewelry (pendants) out of shrinky dink material by rubber stamping images onto the sheets. the problem with this technique is that the surface of the plastic has little grooves in it (can only describe it as being like the little pattern of indents on human skin) and thus the ink bleedes into them. i'm wondering if anyone has experienced this/experimented with this material and has suggestions. also, does anyone know if it is possible to do xerox transfers onto shrinky dink plastic with acetone (or does the acetone react badly to the material?)? i have this dream of making really great stuff out of the shrinky dink material, but am struggling with it. any advice would be great! thanks!
