Crafters! I need help!

I just got engaged last month (finally got the ring this past weekend! yay!) and my Fiance and I are planning our wedding for September of 2012 (unless a zombie apocalypse breaks loose). I'm trying to do as much of the decorating/favors/invites/whatever by hand, and with the help of my lovely bridal party.

One of the biggest things on my DIY agenda is paper flowers. I can't afford real flowers, and even then, I'm really picky when it comes to flowers because in all honesty, I can't stand the smell. Weird, I know.

SO! My centerpieces are going to consist of gold spray-painted mason jars (the jars are leftovers from a good friend's outdoor wedding last year; she's got about 200 jars left over) with either real tea lite candles inside, or the battery-operated ones, as a close friend has tons of those lying around.
Around the jars, I want to do paper flowers. I have searched high and low for paper flower tutorials, and most are very nice, but they aren't what I had in mind.
I'm looking for a style like the first picture shown here (or here is a link to the picture if you can't view the webpage), but I can't find a tutorial for flowers that look like that!

Any help anyone may have is deeply appreciated, as I plan on making HUNDREDS of these flowers. Also, I did check the tags, memories, etc for similar things, but again, could not find exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you!
