I made a flat cap for my horse! I have made him a few "baseball" style hats, but I really wanted to make him something more dignified. This seemed to be the perfect style for him. It was hand sewn. I didn't use a pattern because there aren't really patterns for equine hats.

{EDIT} I realized maybe I should have added some fabric/color details. Sorry that this picture doesn't really help much. Somehow my room is always too dark to take pictures without flash (which also would have distorted the color a lot).

Eagle's UCLA hat. He is kind enough to represent my alma mater despite the fact that he actually went to Yale.

An acquaintance's horse, Jack, in his hand embroidered monkey hat (his nickname is monkey).

I think that I posted this here before. This was the first hat that I made for Eagle. I'm still in love with the fabric.

I have also made a hat for my cat, but I haven't been able to photograph her in it yet. She wears the hat okay but she makes her ears go concave when I put it on (though she occasionally purrs still and seems happy). Considering the fact that she's so skittish that most people have never even actually seen her as more than a black blur, she's not the best candidate for a hat BUT I think I have a decent idea of a pattern to make hats for other, more willing cats.
