Capes

I have been having the most ridiculously difficult time making a couple of simple capes.  I haven't done any machine sewing in a while and it certainly showed.  Problems figuring out layout, major problems with the machine (which turned out to be solved by simply adjusting the thread and bobbin tension - sheesh!), needing to go to the store for more material...  What ought ot have taken me a couple of days has taken me over a week to get the first one done.  Of course, I never do anything simply if I can make it more difficult for myself, so I used two different fabrics to make the capes more interesting.  The main fabric is a plain brown microsuede. The other is a microsuede/foil combination that looks really cool. Despite all the struggles, I am pleased with how this first one has turned out.

At least now that I have that one done, the second should go more quickly.  I need to have them both done before the end of the month, as they are for a Lord of the Rings 4-day event hubby & I are attending.

So, here are some pics.
