dreamcatcher

i couldnt wait till tomorrow - i had to make the dreamcatcher today and i did. really happy with the result especially for a first-timer like me! relied alot on my imaginations and of course, creativity. heh.

more or less the materials i used - some newspaper, hard photo paper, suede
strings, wire strips, glue and the mandatory scissors, etc.

using three wire strips placed together, i made a circle.

taking the red suede string, i 'wrapped' it around the entire now-circle wire strips.

then eventually, you will end up with this.

because i have no feathers with me at the moment and i dont intend to go out
and pluck some out from the pigeons, draw some on the hard photo paper
and cut them out.

then stick whatever you want on them. i glued on newspaper (the comic section if you can see).

do the twirly stuff with the suede string again, this time on the top of
the feather. depending on how many feathers you actually wish to have on
your dreamcatcher, you will need at least three.

then tie the end of the string to the suede hoop and youre almost done.

i find this part the trickiest so i just did whatever i could to make a
'cobweb' on the inside of the hoop. and those letters in there are
really just optional. i wanted to place the word 'dream' inside it only
to realize that it was the stupidest and most ironic move ever because
apparently, in dreamcatcher, the 'cobweb' was supposed to capture all
the bad dreams before transferring out the good ones through the
feathers. so now my dreams (good or bad) are forever stucked in the
cobweb ):
MOVING ON.

KITTY IZ HAZ TO APPROVE.

and then its good to go!
my very first diy dreamcatcher and im so proud of it (':
