Hello, crafters!

I have a quick question. I bought calendars for my family for the holidays last year, but due to Unforeseen Circumstances, I didn't get a chance to give them. So, I still have a handful of perfectly good calendars, which happen to have the wrong dates on them. I'm looking for ideas on how I can use them, not necessarily as calendars even. Any ideas on what to do? I'm not opposed to taking them all to pieces for the pictures, or ideas on how to "update" them so they'll have the right dates on the right days, or any idea that might pop into anyone's head. We're making gifts for each other this year, and I'm struggling to come up with things I can do. I have a handful of ideas, but I figure it can't hurt to have a plethora of ideas to try. :) So, can anyone help? Thanks a bunch in advance!

I swear, one of these days I will post pictures of some of my craftiness!

ETA: I forgot, I have another question! I'm attempting to make glittery Christmas tree ornaments (the ones where you pour Mop & Glo inside clear glass ornaments, swirl it around, pour it out, and then pour in glitter - I'll find a link somewhere if you don't know what I'm talking about.) The Mop & Shine and glitter are doing what they're supposed to. The problem I'm having is with the glass ornaments themselves. They appear to have a pearlescent, oil-slick look around their middles. They aren't supposed to - they're supposed to just be plain, clear glass balls. I'm wondering if there's a way for me to remove that sheen? Like I said, it's not supposed to be there, but I don't really know what causes it. It's on the glass itself - meaning, it's there before I pour in the Mop & Shine, so I know it's not due to anything I'm adding. Any ideas? I just tried swirling some rubbing alcohol around the inside & outside of one, but that doesn't appear to be erasing the weird oil-spill look. (Sorry this is so vague, I have no idea how else to describe it - it looks like what you see on puddles in parking lots right after it rains, kind of an oily rainbow effect). Any suggestions? I'd really like to make these ornaments, but the oil slick stuff makes it hard to see the glitter in a lot of spots - takes away from the prettiness. :(
