Fancy Necklace Action!
Dec. 7th, 2011 10:30 pmA friend of mine always gushes about the nautical themed necklace I made and her birthday was this week so I whipped up a necklace for her on the weekend. No big thing.
Actually it mostly just worked out that It was her birthday.

I think I actually like her necklace better than I like mine! She and I went shopping at a flea market-type place in the city and bought the Lioness Club charm and the cameo.
The things she chose were very soft and feminine and most of the charms are very gold-toned so I tried to go easy on the gold in the chains so it didn't get too matronly, and still had a bit of an edge.
The rest of the charms are just little baubles that I had left over from other stuff, including the wooden cut out bird from Zippan designs in Toronto.
But my favorite part?

The Tassel!!
Apparently tassels are super chic right now. I saw a spread on it in a magazine so it must be true.
I added this great stone bead that I've been waiting to use for ever. I put the tassel on a clasp so my friend can remove the tassel if she wants, or put it on a clutch or a different necklace.
