Suggestions needed

I have several metal tea tins (Twinings loose tea) that measure approximately 3.25" high x 3.25" long x 2.5" wide.  They have removable lids.  I don't want to just put them in recycling, but I need some ideas on what to do with them.  I know I can use them for things such as pencil holders, but I'm hoping to do something more interesting with them.  They can be painted; I haven't rtied glue or mod-podge but I think it would work.  Any suggestions of (a) ways to decorate them and/or (b) things to do with them?

I should mention that I do want to use a couple of them to hold "potion ingredients" for a red sorceress outfit I'm ever-so-slowly putting together.  On top of that, I'm open to any sort of ideas.
