my venture in making the cutest skirt -ever- (no, seriously!) has turned into a small nightmare.

i'm trying to hem it, and the thread keeps breaking. i tried adjusting the feed speed and other settings, but nothing has worked. and now the thread is piling up and looping, making it look just plain awful. so now, after i've thrown the spool of thread across my house in anger and disgust, i am asking for help.

does anyone know what could be causing this? it will make about 20 stitches and then break. the bobbin spool appears to be working fine.

this is SO frustrating!!!!

(but it's going to look awesome when i'm done!)

thanks for any pointers!
