<sub>i made a tie skirt a while back, but just now got the pictures developed...





this is what it looks like from the front... notice the tiny glimmers from the safety pins holding the middle seam together... yes.. i haven't quite finished the waistband nor the... area where a zipper or buttons would go.

basically, i obtained multiple old ties and slit them so that they were made into large panels... i then aligned and pinned the edges of the ties together to see how many i'd need to go around my waist. Luckily, there was no need to try to fiddle with a half tie or anything. Then i hand sewed the panels together (i lack a sewing machine, and, even if i had one, i wonder if the fabric may have pulled...at least two of the ties seem fairly delicate..) and.. well, that's that.
