just like everyone else in the world, im sorry (in advance) for cross posting.

i hope this isn't too random of a question, but i live in an apartment where the landlord is a senile 90-yr-old woman who doesn't really know or care what happens to the place. we have this horrrrrrrrrible, stained carpet that i absolutely hate covering the original hardwood floor of the place, but she won't pay to have it removed. so i was wondering, is there anyway i could take the carpet out myself? how can i tell if it's glued down to the hardwood floor underneath? and how can i tell if i did remove the carpet, whether the hardwood would be salvagable?

thanks!
