craft supplies from scraps

I live in a condo where the other units are still in the rehab phase. I've been keeping an eye on the dumpster out back for treasues (i.e. Craft Toys) Anyway, today I noticed some nice canvas sized (maybe 2' by 2' to 3' by 3') blocks of drywall and some bricks. I don't want to haul them out if they are just going to collect dust and take up space. Does anyone have any experience using drywall for anything useful? It is good to use as a mock canvas or will it get all crumbly and wiggly? Anything else I could do with it? build boxes maybe? hmmm.. anyone have any ideas?
