Pics at last!
Jul. 26th, 2003 03:04 pmI finally got around to buying myself a disposable camera and got a few shots of my crafts. They're thumbnailed, so just click to get the big versions.
First of all, my third ever crochet project, and the first that wasn't a total mess in the end. A celtic cross done in filet crochet. The first project, in case you're wondering, was the worst kitty hat EVAR!!, while the second was this hat, except instead of dc I used some weird mutant stitch the world must never see, that made it come out about half the size it should.
A more recent project, my shoulder bag, open and closed, festooned with buttons. The girls at my Stitch & Bitch all want them now, and they've given me until Yule to deliver.
Record bowls! The one on the left, with the jade plant in it, is Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, while my aloe vera lives in A Tijuana Christmas, and is quite happy there. You can see my super-cool Pride flag lashed to the forecas'le behind Opus there.
And what of the record sleeves, you may ask? Let me present my jewellery box, top and inside to show the liner notes, and her makeup kit, made from Sheena Easton's Be With Me. Apologies for the glare, it was unavoidable.
My fabulous curtains! Check them out, in all their curtainy glory! Totally hand-sewn, the first sewing project I've worked on since 1987. Kindly ignore the non-hemmed one held up by *cough* duct tape on the left, it doesn't count.
My latest completed project, coasters! They're actually made out of cut-up floor tile with felt backing, and images from Celestial Seasonings tea package decoupaged on top.
And lastly, my very first attempt at hacking up a T-shirt. I've got a bunch of old T-shirts and clothes that are no longer, uh, appropriate any longer. So I'll be finding projects that involve men's shirts and other items. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
