I posted last week about buying a sewing machine. I got it earlier in the week and finally set it up earlier today. I had planned on making my mom a knitting needle holder as my first project, but after i cut out the pieces there was a strip of the outer piece and the lining big enough to make a small purse, so i made that first instead.

It's the first thing i've sewn in years, but i think it turned out semi-cute. I forgot to pin in the handles prior to sewing the lining fabric to the outside fabric, so i had to sew them on after, which makes it not so attractive from the inside. I know to remember for next time, anyway.
