Photo transfers using laminate sheets

I've been trying to transfer images using laminate sheets...and I've followed the directions to the T. I've even googled for instructions and followed those -- all to no avail.

I've tried contact paper, I've tried laminate sheets from Michaels...the damned image won't stick to the paper.I'm using shiny glossy images from magazines, many different kinds of magazines but nothing works. After I soak the image and go to peel it off, the entire paper just peels up and no image is transferred to the laminate.

I love this effect so much and I just want it to work! help!
