Refinished table. Sorry, no pictures yet.
Aug. 4th, 2003 10:33 pmSo I was driving along one day, when I saw a table by the side of the road. The top was round and about three feet in diameter and the bottom was a giant number 2. After tossing aside the cardboard marked "FREE", I whipped out my tool set and proceeded to take it apart and put it in my trunk. (I probably could have fit it in there intact, I have a pretty big trunk).
It took me a few days to decide what to do with it. The two didn't look too bad-- red with a gold highlight-- but the top was pitiful. It looked like someone had taken lace and spraypainted over it, leaving this icky gold lace-like print over a black surface, or maybe vice-versa. Either way it had to go.
I found a really nifty spray paint by Krylon called Mystique. It leaves an irridecent finish. I decided to go with the blue/purple color and got to work. The 2 is entirely irridecent blue/purple, but the top is black with blue/purple stars from a stencil I fashioned out of cardboard. All in all, it came out pretty rad. I think it will me my new stereo table.
