i don't know how crafty this is considered since it's food related, but here goes.
woman's day had a recipe about a cake that looked like a hamburger. since my sister's birthday was coming up my mother and i decided to tackle it.

Here is the recipie we used. The one that was in the actual magazine actually has some different instructions...including using orange air-heads for the cheese, green chewy jolly ranchers for the lettuce (rolled out and cut with pinking shears), cookies covered with red food coloring for tomatos, and white spice drops rolled out and cut for the onions.

We definitely had some troubles. It was a humid week so our lettuce made out of chewy jolly ranchers melted and we had to take it off and substitute frosting for it. And we couldn't find any orange air-heads so we substituted orange starburst for the cheese, and rolled 10 pieces out into a single sheet.
This is not a cake for a person who doesn't love sweets!

I thought we did a pretty good job with it though!

Woman's Day has a WHOLE section on silly cake recipies here! Enjoy. :)
